Remembering the Good: Remembering is Painful

I AM A GRIEVING WIDOR. I lost my husband John, a United States Army Vietnam veteran with two Bronze Stars and many more awards of 41 years. We were married twice, first marriage was August 15, 1982, that lasted for five years. We were divorced for five years, and we recommitted our lives to the Lord and August 28, 2023, we would have celebrated 31-years of marriage. Our total time together was 41-years. It is so hard to say goodbye. We treasured our love. I became his caregiver after he suffered many strokes. For the last three years of his life, he had dementia, and eventually was wheelchair bound unable to care for himself. I cared for him like Jesus cares for us.
